Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about selling your motorbike to WeBuyAnyBike247. From valuations to collections, we've got the answers.
Valuations & The Process
Absolutely not. Our service is 100% free from start to finish. We do not charge transaction fees, admin fees, or collection fees. The price we agree on is the exact amount you will receive in your bank account.
Yes, provided the condition of the bike matches the description you gave us. Our valuation is based on the information provided. If our driver inspects the bike and finds undisclosed damage or mechanical issues, we may have to adjust the offer. However, if everything is as described, the initial quote stands. We pride ourselves on fair, no-haggle pricing.
Yes, we buy any bike in almost any condition! Whether your bike has been sitting in a garage for years, has failed its MOT, or has accident damage, we will still make you a fair offer. Just ensure you mention the condition when getting your valuation so we can price it accurately.
We certainly will. We understand that many bikers modify their machines. Some modifications can increase the value of the bike, while others might decrease it compared to a factory-standard model. Send us details and a few photos of your modifications, and we'll factor them into our valuation.
Payments & Finance
We pay via secure, instant bank transfer. Once our driver has inspected the bike and you are happy to proceed, the funds are transferred directly into your account while we are standing with you. We do not load the bike into our van until you have checked your banking app and confirmed the money has cleared.
For the safety of our drivers and our customers, we do not carry or pay in physical cash. However, our instant bank transfers hit your account immediately, giving you the exact same spending power without the security risks of handling large amounts of cash.
Yes, selling a bike with outstanding finance is very common. We will need an up-to-date settlement letter from your finance company. We will pay the finance company directly to settle the loan, and if your bike is worth more than the settlement figure, we pay the remaining equity directly to you. If you owe more than the bike is worth (negative equity), you can simply pay us the shortfall via debit/credit card to clear the debt.
Collection & Transport
No, we offer free nationwide collection across mainland UK. We have our own fleet of branded vans and fully insured drivers who will come to your home or workplace at a time that suits you.
The entire process usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. This gives our driver enough time to briefly inspect the bike, help you complete the V5C transfer paperwork, process the instant bank transfer, and safely load the motorcycle into our van.
Paperwork & Documents
To sell your bike, you will need:
• The V5C Logbook (registered in your name)
• Valid Photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport)
• Proof of Address (Utility bill or bank statement matching the V5C address)
• Both sets of keys (if applicable)
• Any service history, manuals, and MOT certificates

We legally cannot purchase a motorbike without the original V5C logbook. However, getting a replacement is very easy. You can order a duplicate V5C logbook online via the DVLA website, and it usually arrives in the post within 5 working days. Once it arrives, we’ll be ready to buy your bike!
Yes, you can. If you are selling for a friend or family member, we require a signed letter of authorization from the registered keeper, their photo ID, and the money must be paid into the registered keeper's bank account.
If you are handling the estate of a deceased relative, we understand this is a difficult time. We will try to make the process as smooth as possible. We will generally need to see the death certificate and proof that you are the executor of the estate. Please call us to discuss your specific situation.

We are happy to buy bikes with private plates! However, if you want to keep your private plate, it is your responsibility to place it on retention via the DVLA website before we collect the bike. The DVLA will then issue a replacement V5C with the original age-related registration number, which you will need for the sale.
